Today, the Larson portfolio of wine reflects the renowned quality and diversity of Sonoma and Mendocino viticulture. Our winemaking team begins with impeccable fruit grown in our estate vineyards, by our seasoned and expert vineyard crew. We use great attention to detail at every step in the growing process to preserve the purity of each distinct variety and clone, all while keeping sustainability and stewardship at the forefront of our process.
Home Ranch Vineyard
Erica’s Vineyard, Tom’s Vineyard and Meyer’s Ranch are just north and south of our barn-turned-tasting-room on Millerick Road and consist of 77 acres planted. This is Southern Sonoma Valley, also called Schellville, where we are in the Carneros Appellation. This is where San Pablo Bay meets the southern deep clay soils which bring forth a longer growing season. The extra time on the vine produces grapes with a velvety texture and phenomenal flavors.
Here we grow Chardonnay (15 acres of which are Certified Organic), as well as Pinot Noir grapes, both of which Carneros is famous for. In addition, we grow Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Pinot Grigo and Gewürztraminer. These varietals thrive here and make up our estate vintages.
Aslin Vineyard
This vineyard is close to the winery in the Carneros Appellation and makes up 11 acres and all Certified Organic. The Aslin’s specific clones are what make this vineyard unique. Clones 115 and 667 grow well here, producing the sought-after balance, aromas, and flavors in our Pinot Noir.
Dicesare Vineyard
This 20 acre vineyard is located in the Redwood Valley Appellation in Mendocino County. It is ideal for Pinot Noir and Chardonnay with its rich, deep soils being near the Russian River. These vineyards are surrounded by acres of pear orchards, which during harvest make for a very unique “wine pearing.”
Sustainable Farming Practices & Certified Organic
All our vineyards are Certified Sustainable, which means when you buy a bottle of our wine, you know that it was made with the environment, social responsibility, economic viability, and high quality in mind. This practice conserves water and energy, maintains healthy soil protect air and water quality, enhances relations with employees and communities, preserves local ecosystems and wildlife habitat, and improves the economic vitality of the vineyards and wineries.
In addition to being Certified Sustainable, we have 25 acres of Certified Organic – 10 acres of Pinot Noir and 15 of Chardonnay. We are working on transitioning more vineyards to Certified Organic as well.
