Join us for a tasting ~ Book HERE

We’re in the heart of Sonoma Valley’s Carneros region and five generations have lived and worked this land.  What began as a dairy farm, transitioned into the home of the largest rodeo in Northern California from 1928 to 1950’s.  We planted our first vineyard in 1978 and when we made more wine than we could drink, we opened the winery about a decade later. Today we bottle 5,000 cases of wine that we sell exclusively through our tasting room and wine club and farm 150 acres of estate vineyards.

We are a family-friendly, dog-friendly winery where you can bring everyone to enjoy a glass, play bocce and visit our three Labs and farm critters—all while enjoying our vineyard views and award winning wines (from grape to glass all in the same place).

The Family

We are family owned and operated and we are all involved in daily operations.  Tom is the Wine Master,  CEO and head of Vineyard Operations; Becky oversees our Wine Club and Tasting Room; Erica manages our Human Resources and Safety Programs; Will and Wyatt (while still in college), work a variety of jobs from vineyards to bottling.  We are very proud of our wines and our excellent team.  It is our mission to provide an open, honest, positive, work environment treating all with respect and dignity; provide excellent customer service and make the best wine we can; as well as contribute positively to our communities and our environment.  We know how lucky we are to be stewards of this land.

Winemaker, Shane Ryan

Born and raised in Sonoma Valley, Shane knew early on that the wine industry was going to be his passion and life-long pursuit.  He obtained a degree from Sonoma State University in Wine Business Strategy and concurrently started gaining practical knowledge in the wine Industry.  His first job was in the cellar at Trentadue Winery in Geyserville, Ca. in 2008 and quickly became fascinated with winemaking. He spent the next five years gaining all the knowledge he could there.  During this time, Shane was also picked up some extra hours working in the tasting room at Larson Family winery.  Shane enjoyed serving and talking about wine so much that he stayed on for the next two years working weekends and sharing his passion of wine with others.  He even met his wife when working in the tasting room at Larson in the summer of 2011.  They have been married for eight years now and have two children.

As he was finishing his studies at Sonoma State, the position of Assistant Winemaker opened at Larson Family Winery, and immediately he sought the opportunity.  From 2013-2017 Shane expanded his knowledge and palate at Larson Family until deciding to briefly part ways to further challenge his skill set and became the Production Winemaker for Benziger Family Winery in Glen Ellen.  The five years he spent there, garnered a more expansive experience in Sonoma County and North Coast wines. It also gave the opportunity to express his own style in crafting wine.In late Summer of last year, Shane found himself back a Larson Family Winery and is eager to showcase his knowledge and style of winemaking into the brand.  We are excited to showcase where he has been with Larson and where he will take the brand going forward.

Larson Family Winery's Three Labs Rosko, Louie and Ollie
Ollie, Rosko, and Louie Larson

Wine Dogs

Hardworking farm dogs and namesake of our bestselling Three Lab Cab, Ollie, Rosko and Louie Larson are usually found wandering around the winery, waiting to greet guests.  Ollie was a service dog in training before he came to live at the winery. Unfortunately (but fortunately for us), he required a career adjustment. The family who trained him are friends of the Larsons and are Wine Club members! Rosko is our big, hungry, lazy guy. However, you’ll see him move pretty quickly when a sandwich or cheese is left unattended. Louie is the resident puppy. Louie & Rosko are half-brothers, they share the same dad. They couldn’t be happier to live the wine dog life!
